De-Tomaso Pantera Tires
Early 1971–1972 Pantera GTS were equipped with 185/70 VR 15 Michelin XWX front and 215/70 WR 15 Michelin XWX tires. 185/70-15 and 215/70-15 tires can fit innertubes, we can offer the Michelin 15E innertube and the Michelin 15/17H innertube for 185/70-15 and 215/70-15 tires, respectively. Our period fitment guides suggest that models released on these tires had tube-type wheels, meaning innertubes need fitting, even if the tires are tubeless.
Pantera-L, GTS, and Group 3 vehicles from 1972.5 to 1978 were equipped with 205/60R15 and 255/60R15 tires . Pirelli make a correct 255/60R15 CN12 but the only tire Pirelli makes that comes close to a front is a 215/60 WR 15 PIRELLI CINTURATO CN36, which is slightly larger but has a different tread pattern.
Tires with a profile below 70% (e.g,. 255/60R15) cannot and should not fit innertubes.
Avon CR6ZZ in sizes 215/60VR15, 245/60 VR15, and 275/55 VR15 are the alternate options. They aren't perfectly sized for the Pantera, they are also racing tires rather than proper period tires, however they have the same tread pattern for both the front and back.
The Pantera's rear wheels were upgraded to 10" in 1975. This makes it is possible to take advantage of the latter fitment; 225/50 VR 15 PIRELLI CINTURATO P7 front and 285/50 VR 15 PIRELLI CINTURATO P7 rear. 225/50 VR 15 PIRELLI CINTURATO P7 front and 285/50 VR 15 PIRELLI CINTURATO P7 rear—can be utilised.
De Thomaso installed 225/50 VR 15 PIRELLI CINTURATO P7 on the front and 285/50VR 15 Pirelli P7 on the back from 1978 to 1984. For the time being, we advise owners to use 295/50 VR 15 Avon CR6ZZ tires on the back of their Pantera GTS and Group 3 vehicles.
The 345/35 VR 15 PIRELLI CINTURATO P7 and 285/40 VR 15 PIRELLI CINTURATO P7 tires are compatible with the later Pantera GT4, GT5, and GT5-S, also known as wide body Pantera.
The final 38 vehicles, dubbed Pantera Si had 235/45-17 front and 335/35-17 rear tires. There are currently no classic tires in the 235/45-17 size. The closest classic tire is the 245/40R17 Pirelli P-Zero Asimmetrico, which has a diameter 16mm less than a 235/45-17 tire. The overall width would be approximately 10mm more. Owners could check their clearance and see if this tire would work for their model. For the rear we can offer the 335/35 ZR 17 Pirelli P-Zero Asimmetrico.

History of the De Tomaso Pantera
The De Tomaso Pantera, constructed under a contract with Ford to create a supercar for US sales, was designed to be a significant upgrade over the De Tomaso Mangusta. Regrettably, Ford eventually stopped providing assistance, leaving De Tomaso to build the automobile on their own. The Pantera, which means "Panther" in Italian, was the automaker's most popular model, over 7,000 Pantera vehicles were built over the course of the model's 20-year manufacturing span. More than three-quarters of the production were sold by American Lincoln-Mercury dealers between 1972 and 1975. After this agreement came to an end, De Tomaso continued to make the vehicle until the early 1990s, but at a diminishing rate. Production ran from 1971 to 1992, with a total of approximately 7,260 cars produced.
